Develop an understanding about the conversion of scales (mainly between macro, micro, nano), laws of exponents, and build your understanding about the relative sizes of some objects found in those scales.
Many beneficial nanoparticles are being discovered and even some being manufactured to the benefit of our health and quality of life. Nanoparticles are particles between 1 and 100 nanometers in size. Their small size, high surface area and improved physical, chemical and biological properties make them a highly focused area of nanoscience.
Make yourself familiar with some of the most prominent types: Carbon nanotubes, Gold (and Silver) nanoparticles, Quantum dots, the relationship between volume and surface area, and priorities of forces at the nanoscale.
